“Zosia’s Four Surgeries — A Little Heart That Refused to Give Up”.

The past few weeks have felt like living through a storm — one that no parent could ever be prepared for.
Our little Zosia has been fighting a battle that no child should ever have to face — a fight for her life.

On October 9, our daughter underwent open-heart surgery to close a large atrial septal defect (ASD).
The doctors warned us it would be difficult, but we were filled with hope.

When the operation ended, we finally allowed ourselves to breathe again — everything seemed to have gone well.

But sometimes, hope can be fragile.
During the procedure, a complication arose — a narrowing in her right superior vena cava.

The doctors monitored her closely, assuring us that with time, things might improve.
For a while, we tried to believe that.

Then, three weeks later, everything changed.

Zosia’s condition suddenly deteriorated.

Her lips turned pale, her breathing became shallow, and the monitors began to sound their alarms.
Before we could even process what was happening, the medical team rushed in.
The words we heard next shattered us:

“Cardiac tamponade — we need to operate immediately.”

In that moment, time stopped.
We stood frozen in the corridor, watching as our baby girl — so small, so delicate — was rushed away once again.

The doors to the operating room closed, and we were left behind with nothing but our prayers.
The silence that followed was unbearable.
Every passing minute felt like an eternity.

Hours later, the surgeon came out and gave us a faint smile.
The surgery had saved her life.
Our baby had made it.

But her journey was far from over.

After that night, Zosia would go on to endure two more surgeries — one to widen the narrowed vein, and another to insert a stent to help keep it open.

Each operation carried its own risks, each recovery its own fears.
She spent weeks surrounded by machines, tubes, and monitors — her tiny body fighting to recover after every new challenge.

In just one month, our brave little girl went through four major surgeries.
Four times we watched her being carried away to the operating room.
Four times we prayed with everything we had that she would come back to us.

And she did.
Every single time, she fought her way back.

Now, at last, Zosia is home.
Her small heart — patched, strengthened, and supported — beats steadily once again.

Each beat is a miracle.
Each smile she gives us feels like a gift.

But her fight isn’t over.
We are still under the constant care of her cardiac surgeons, and we know the road ahead is long.

In March, Zosia is scheduled for another procedure — this time, the first surgery on her little arm.
It’s yet another mountain to climb, but after everything she’s endured, we know our daughter is stronger than any obstacle in her path.

As parents, it’s hard to describe the whirlwind of emotions — fear, exhaustion, gratitude, hope.
There were nights when we broke down in tears beside her hospital bed, whispering prayers into the dark, asking for just one more day.

And somehow, that prayer kept being answered.

Through it all, your support has been our anchor.
Your kind words, donations, and prayers carried us through the hardest nights.
Each message of encouragement gave us strength when we thought we had none left.

Each gesture of generosity reminded us that we are not alone in this fight.

From the bottom of our hearts — thank you.
You have no idea how much your compassion means to us.

But our battle isn’t over yet.
The medical costs continue to rise, and the treatments Zosia still needs are far beyond our means.
We can’t let the lack of funds stand in the way of her recovery — not after how far she’s come, not after all she’s survived.

That’s why we’re asking, humbly, for your continued support.
Please stay with us on this journey.
Help us give Zosia the chance to grow, to play, to live a life free from fear and pain.

Because behind every scar on her tiny chest is a story of courage.
Behind every tear we’ve shed is the belief that miracles are real — because we’ve seen one, and her name is Zosia.

She’s still small, still healing, but she’s here.
And every heartbeat reminds us why we keep fighting.
